Some intresting points from eBay architecture..
- eBay partitions every data, so eBay says there is nothing called ‘Database’ in eBay
- 16000 application servers instances running
- 400 different database instances
- At any point of time, atleast few DB instances would fail, but still the system manages to run smooth
- eBay breaks the rule of ACID ( Atomicity, Consistency, Isolation, Durability ) in database, they follow BASE ( Basically Available, Soft-state, Eventually consistent )
- eBay as a DAL ( Data Access Layer ) which actually abstracts the whole split scene in the database to the programmers.
- Programmers think there is only one Database to store. But DAL manages the data accessing in a different way.Wow!
- Lot more things…
- Finally eBay in powered by J2EE…
Interesting isn’t it..Want to know more on how eBay is working,

Year back I remembered that there are 3 rules to calculate the HRA excemption. But the necessary of this formula arises only on every financial year beginning. Handy tool is Google to search, but I could get the formula only after scanning a couple of paras! Hence I decided to put up a sheet on my own.
Here is a Spreadsheet to Calculate the HRA allowance.

World got better and faster with Web 2.0. Now it’s the time where Web 3.0 started it’s race and “Alex Iskold” from RWW had written a big article on how the next generation of web will be evolved!
The write up is fantastic and he visualized the future Web 3.0 and the need of bringing it out!
The Semantic Web means many things to different people, because there are a lot of pieces to it. To some, the Semantic Web is the web of data, where information is represented in RDF and OWL. Some people replace RDF with Microformats.

If you are asked about Rangajaran, you might not be knowing about him, but the moment I say ‘Sujatha’, you would jump to sky and scream ‘அட நம்ம சுஜாதா’. Yeah, Sujatha, a well known personality in Tamilnadu and probably in India too.
Similar to Leonard-Davinci, Sujatha a Novelist, a writer, a poet, a screenplay writer, a critic, a science teacher, and many more. He have mixed things in right way to make the reader understand in a better way.
To be frank, he is my first virtual science teacher during my school days( guess it was my 12th ), who had made me to perceive science and world in a very different mannger. His book on Vikatan Publishers “ஏன் , எதற்கு , எப்படி?” ( literal transalation from tamil is Why, What & How? ) is a one of great book of his which answers about mor than 100+ questions on science starting from Universe to Atom.
Thou I’m not a verocious reader of books or novel, I loved his words on whatever I have read.
His recent demise had left a hard & deep scar in my heart and sure in the heart of his fans too. He was yet another episode which ended in the Tamilnadu, where the fans doesn’t want to.
Coudln’t write more…’துக்கம் தொண்டையை அடைக்கிறது’
Simply, I’m really proud that we are contemporaries!
